"Caring for the Health and Well-being of Our College Community"

At Government College, Bherian, Pehowa, the health and well-being of our students and staff is a priority. The college has established dedicated committees and facilities to ensure timely medical support, first aid, health awareness, and preventive care.


Youth Red Cross / Red Ribbon / First Aid Committee

This committee regularly organizes health-related activities and ensures the availability of first aid facilities on campus for students and staff.

  • Members: Mr. Jagmohan Singh, Dr. Parshant Kumar, Mrs. Alka

Key Functions:

  • Providing first aid support in case of emergencies.

  • Conducting awareness programs on health, hygiene, and blood donation.

  • Encouraging student participation in humanitarian and health-related initiatives.


Women Cell / Dispensary / Health Awareness Committee

This committee works towards promoting health awareness, especially among girl students, and ensures access to basic health facilities on campus.

  • Members: Dr. Jagir Singh, Dr. Prerna, Mrs. Savita Dahiya, Dr. Monika Sharma

Key Initiatives:

  • Provision of sanitary napkins for girl students to promote hygiene and comfort.

  • Organizing health check-up camps for students and staff.

    • On 4th & 5th March 2025, a Health Awareness and Dental Check-up Camp was organized, open to all students, teaching, and non-teaching staff.

    • Doctor on Duty: Dr. Shrishti K. Sehgal (BDS, Oro-Dental Surgeon, MIDA, Kurukshetra) conducted health screenings and dental check-ups during the camp.

Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Cell

  • 24X7 Helpline for mental health and suicide prevention.

Recognizing the importance of mental well-being, the college has established a Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Cell. The cell organizes awareness sessions, counseling interactions, and support programs to help students overcome stress, anxiety, and emotional challenges.

Key Initiative:


On 9th September 2025, the college jointly organized with Government College for Girls, Palwal, Kurukshetra, an Online Interaction Session on “Celebrating Life: Building Hope & Resilience” under a 3-Day Workshop on Life Skill Education.

  • Resource Person: Mr. Hamesh Chander Yadav, Clinical Psychologist & Life Coach, Australia.

  • The session focused on nurturing hope, positivity, confidence, and self-acceptance.

  • Students were encouraged with the message “You Are Not Alone – Learn to know yourself, Rebuild your confidence, Accept yourself.”

On 27th August 2025, a lecture by mental health expert Dr. (Prof.) Poonam Bagi.
